Maryland General Assembly is in session for 2014

Senate ChamberAs of noon, the General Assembly of Maryland is in session for 2014.  Please visit Maryland Legislative Watch for synopses of key bills and an easy way to contact committees about these bills.

You may subscribe (see the right hand side of the page) to get all posts via email.

The 2014 session will last 90 days, ending April 7.  Key dates:

January 15 - deadline for Governor to introduce operating budget bill.

January 27 - deadline for Governor to introduce capital budget bill.

January 31 - last day for Senators to introduce bills without bills being referred to Rules committee.

February 7 - last day for Delegates to introduce bills without bills being referred to rules committee.

March 3 - final date for introduction of bills without suspension of rules.

March 31 - budget passed by House and Senate.
